Wedding Venue Spotlight – Cafe Stoked

I had the pleasure of shooting a wedding reception at Cafe Stoked this February, and I just have to mention that this is such a great place for a private party. Although they are an open-to-the public restaurant most of the time, they make their dining room, atrium style lobby, and outdoor patio available for private events. Their culinary displays were well done, their staff was noticeably friendly and helpful, and the contemporary rustic decor is really warm and beautiful.

Additional rooms that open easily onto the other spaces, create a natural flow for mingling during the cocktail hour and reception. Flat screens throughout all rooms played a personalized photo slideshow during the evening as well; a great touch!

The large windows, high ceilings and wide al fresco style doors of the main lobby offer the perfect space for the cake, personalized wedding favor display, the dance floor and even the photo booth:

The main dining area is spacious enough to accommodate a wedding reception sized group, while also feeling intimate enough to put all the guests within a conversational reach:

And even though the wedding took place nearby at the Elfin Forest Nature Reserve, we still used the beautiful fountain located in the park right across the street for just a few more sunset photos:

Balboa Park Wedding – Administrative Courtyard and Spanish Village

Matt & Barbara’s romantic, rustic and ROWDY wedding in Balboa Park. The ceremony was at the elegant Administrative Courtyard, with whispers of Spain and Santa Barbara that set the scene. Act two was when the party got really jump’n, over in the Spanish Art Village. Don’t take my word for it, just see Matt in action below…
